Purchasing a Puppy

We breed for Health and Temperament first, structure follows that. We don't breed for color. We plan every breeding and keep something out of each litter for our breeding program. We also do not breed Brown to Brown. All other puppies are sold on a non breed, spay/neuter contract.

Our main aim is to produce top quality puppies that are happy, healthy and properly socialized. We are members of Club Barbet Canada and the CKC. We have been Breeder of the year for 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.

While our clients are waiting for their puppies to get old enough to go to their new homes they get to enjoy a weekly visitation program with the litter. This enables the client to learn all about their puppy and their puppy gets to know about their new owners. All puppies are included in the visitation program, to provide you with a well socialized puppy. For our out of province and country clients, their puppies are included in this process. After all, we want happy, healthy puppies.

To see how our puppies are raised please view the following photo shows: If you would like to view them all, just click on my name Florence which appears on the right hand of the finished photo show and all come up. Enjoy…

An interview is necessary before we allow any puppies to be spoken for. This method protects you the possible client, us the breeder and most of all the puppies because we know they are truly going to a special home. Again for our out of province clients, most of this process is done over the Internet and by telephone. We also have a web cam that is on most of the day for our clients to check in to see how mom and babies are doing.

We only have a couple litters a year and reservations are highly recommended. A deposit of $200.00 is necessary to reserve a puppy with us, which is refundable if we are not able to supply you with a puppy. When puppies are born we ask for a further deposit of $300 which helps us to raise and care for the puppies, at that time deposits are not refundable.

For further information please visit us on Face Book. This tells when puppies are due and born.

All puppies should be home raised to be properly socialized. Look very carefully at the parents and inquire about their age and general health. Ask to see the vet records that prove that their eyes have been certified, elbows checked and hips x-rayed and certified. Make sure that the puppy you are going to buy comes from the best possible breeding stock you can find for the betterment of the breed.

Do lots of research and don't buy on impulse. A healthy Barbet lives for a very long time and you want to make sure that the one you choose is going to be able to do so. Prices for pet puppies on a CKC non breed and our own spay/neuter contract start at $2,000.00. Why the spay/neuter contract? It is to prevent the puppy from falling into the hands of the puppy producers and puppy mills. Breeding pups are sold on a special contract to protect them and their offspring.

Should you require further information or would like to have a personal interview, please give us a telephone call @ 905-821-9028.

Sincerely
